Katy & Rob’s story started back in 2010, when the couple were introduced through a mutual friend on a night out. After Katy’s friends insisted on Rob asking for her number, their journey began! A few years later, surrounded by candles and lovingly crafted origami stars, Rob popped the question – how could Katy say no! We’ve been good friends with them for some time, and we couldn’t wait to photograph their big day.
The couple were set on having an elegant, yet modern, wedding. After looking around a few venues, they both fell in love with Tickton Grange, East Yorkshire. The venue, which is situated near Beverley, ticked every box, and provided the sophisticated, and rather stylish, atmosphere that Katy & Rob were searching for.
We really couldn’t have asked for better weather on the day. The glorious sunshine had guests relaxing in the garden, drinks in hand, a perfect Summer’s wedding! The good weather also meant we could explore Tickton’s gardens fully, always a pleasure, as they create a stunning backdrop for photos. The day was certainly the elegant occasion that Katy & Rob were aiming for, with beautiful flowers provided by Sarah Slater (Beverley Flower Company), and timeless transport from Pickering Wedding Cars.
There were many unforgettable moments, including a lovely first dance, which Rob dreaded – but then loved, and Katy walking down the aisle in her gorgeous dress from Bride & Co. For us? A fantastic confetti photo, a surprise Spiderman cake, and a crazy evening dance floor – it’s safe to say this wedding was certainly a memorable one!
Don’t take our word for it, here are some photos!
