Jess and Adam’s story began a few years ago, when they were introduced by a mutual friend at a Christmas party. Sometime later, on Jess’ 21st birthday, Adam proposed while they were celebrating in London!
They first heard about us when they were guests at a wedding we photographed a few years back. We clicked the moment we met them and couldn’t wait for their big day!
Jess and Adam decided that they wanted to create a laid back atmosphere, where everybody could simply relax and have fun. From start to finish, the whole day felt really fun and easy-going! Tom spent the morning with Jess, photographing some lovely details, and getting some gorgeous portraits of her in her dress from Glory Days Bridal. They hired a lovely little camper-van which really suited their rustic theme, and it matched the colours of the day in the photos we took of the Jess and her bridesmaids in the morning, just before heading off to church!
The ceremony was taken by Jess’ Uncle, and it all felt rather emotional and intimate! As it came to an end, Tom managed to run out just in time to catch a romantic kiss between the newlyweds, which is still one of his favourite photographs to this day! After the guests left, there was chance for some gorgeous portraits around the church, before heading back to the campervan. However, much to their surprise, it had been stolen by the groomsmen, who’d managed to blag themselves a lift to the reception venue! There was time for a few extra photographs while we waited for it to return, which worked out rather nicely, as some of these are also in the list of all time favourite photos, too!
The reception took place at Priory Barn and Cottages, Wetherby, North Yorkshire, as it ticked every single box for Jess and Adam, fitting perfectly into their chilled out, rustic atmosphere. So much thought went into the minor details. Adam, a graphic designer at his company, INIT Creative, took it upon himself to create the designs for the stationary, as well as the wedding favours, which were vinyl style CD’s with the soundtrack of the wedding on. Even the candles had the lyrics printed on them! Everything tied in together, it was brilliantly planned!
The wedding had so many memorable moments. The speeches were genuinely hilarious, with one of the best men putting together a hysterical video which still stands out over years of weddings! The dance floor was incredible too, with Jess’ band, The Herbs, opening the evening events, and an enormous conga line dancing it’s way around the venue. We even managed to capture the amazing moment when a best man tried to hop, skip and jump, but found himself landing in the pond!
