Fleur and Corrie first met in Burton Pidsea, after being set up by family and friends. Over their mutual love of chocolate hobnobs, their romance blossomed (we don’t blame them – they’re our favourites too!). Corrie popped the question outside the Minerva on Hull Marina, their favourite place to eat and drink gin! Fleur said yes, and the wedding planning began.
We were super excited about Fleur and Corrie’s wedding, as they chose to celebrate at Granary Barn, a brand new venue at Clapham Holme Farm. It was the perfect spot for the laidback, country wedding they wanted, and had the space for a huge party too! This was the very first wedding at the venue, so finishing touches were being made right up to the big day. It was definitely exciting – but pretty nerve racking!
The wedding itself was stunning – and there was clearly no need to worry at all. The running of the day was kept super smooth and on time thanks to their friend and master of ceremonies, David. The country vibe they were aiming for was incorporated really tastefully, with Corrie and his best man using their own Land Rovers as wedding transport! And how could we not mention the cutest wedding guest of the year? Sammy the Spaniel! As usual from our lovely clients, there were a ton of personal touches as well. Including a gorgeous custom signing heart, and a cheesecake instead of a traditional wedding cake.
Fleur & Corrie braved the rain for some lovely portraits on the newly laid lawn. It was lovely to be able to return to the shelter of the barn, where guests gathered round the fire. The corrugated walls also made a fantastic backdrop for the photo booth!
We truly enjoyed the entire day, and it’s pretty difficult picking a favourite part! For Fleur & Corrie, it was the food and drink, provided by Hull Pie and All About the Fizz. The evening party with the brilliant Southwest Band ranked pretty high on the list, too.
For us, we loved the styling, the venue, and the feel of the day as a whole. It was the first time their entire family had been together for a while, and the emotion on the dance floor spoke volumes!

We only photograph 15 weddings a year. Some photographers take on 50 a year with no interest in whether the day was enjoyed by you and your guests. Afterwards, they’ll give you only files, not a story that will be cherished by you and your families for generations.
